Ramaphosa, keep your Basic Income Grant commitment
Right now, the National Treasury is reviewing the Basic Income Grant (BIG) policy to make a final decision - and it could land on the President’s desk any day now. When that happens, President Ramaphosa will have a choice to make: stick to the commitments he made to the people and ensure the policy is as strong as possible, or let the delays continue.
Together, we can make sure that when the President sees the draft, he’s thinking about the promises he made - and knows how urgently Mzansi needs a BIG. Send the president a message to remind him of his BIG commitments.
Why is this important?
The government will soon make a decision on the BIG policy, and we have a chance to act! We’ve already got the ANC over the line for saying they commit to a livable, dignified income for all – now we need to hold them to account until their promise is a reality.
