Fix the issues at the Dan Tloome Randfontein Housing Project

* [Campaign Update]: We escalated the issue and sent the MEC Tasneem an email, an inspector was sent to assess the situation and instructed us to send a list of all affected units to the appointed construction company Ariobex, we are still awaiting a response.

The government-subsidized Dan Tloome Mega Project in Randfontein, which has been in development for over 4 years and currently has 30,000 units, is falling apart. Residents who have been staying in these units have been complaining about the state of the building and how they pose a threat to their lives. One of the houses that was not built too long ago had a section of its wall caving in. The house’s ceilings were also crumbling [1].

Residents have also raised concerns about the lack of service delivery, refuse collection and availability of nearby clinics, police stations. Since the residents occupied these housing units four years ago, there have been no plans in place to build a clinic, police station, schools, or shopping centres [2]

- As residents of Dan Tloome we demand that all the mistakes that the contractors made must be fixed.
- We urge the Department of Human Settlements to intervene.

Why is this important?

"We are not safe,as every time it rains, the roofs get blown away. There are leaks in the ceilings, and the stair rails are not even stable," said a concerned resident.
