Fix the water crisis in Waterdal now!

To interact on water shortage issues that people are facing and take into account the needs of communities like they always say, "put people first".

Why is this important?

Water shortage is an ongoing situation that needs to be addressed and we also need to ensure that households gain access to water supply that offer safe drinking water.

It's been two years since the community of Sebokeng, particularly Waterdal (Kwaggafontein) has been facing water shortages, but the municipality has done nothing about it. Instead, they brought water trucks that come once a week. People go to nearby locations to fetch water. Sometimes it affects the whole of Sebokeng, then schools will be closed early which affects children's education. Even the clinics will send people home telling them there's no water and that affects people's lives because some of them go there for chronic medication but can't get assisted.

Waterdal is an agricultural land where people used to grow vegetables and many other things to help them feed their families, but not anymore because the taps are dry, even the land also. Livestock dies and farmers can't farm due to this water issue.

According to ESI Africa, South Africa is approaching physical water scarcity in 2025 where they are expected to experience a water deficit of 17 percent by 2030 [1]. What does our minister do to make sure that people are not affected by this? Do we have to lose lives because of something that can be resolved, do we have to bury lives before they take action?
