To: His Excellency, Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa

WE DEMAND AN INQUIRY AGAINST THE DEPARTMENT OF BASIC EDUCATION!

We demand an official investigation against the Department of Basic Education on gross negligence of multiplicity: The Death of our Teachers because of stressful conditions caused by maladministration, no economic efficiency, no education efficiency, no benefits (no maternity leave & 13th cheque), no pension fund, no permanent post and death of teachers at schools; constructive & unfair dismissals, underpaid and many more.

Basic Education has been declared as the No.1 “priority” in South Africa.

We cannot sit and watch our Teachers being financially constrained by the Department in the name of a system. #OnsKanNie #Ngeke

We cannot sit and watch our Teachers being humiliated by the Department allegedly heisting their Pension Fund in the name of a fixed term contract. #OnsKanNie #Ngeke

We cannot sit and watch our Teachers being underpaid by the SGB while serving under the Department of Basic Education. #OnsKanNie #Ngeke

We cannot sit and watch the Department abusing its power by constantly phasing out qualifications without proper consultation, capacity and support for the teachers. #OnsKanNie #Ngeke

We cannot sit and watch such a corporate abuse of ECD & Grade R Teachers; employed, unemployed and retired.

Together we can make a great difference and impact. We ask for the former Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng to preside over the matter on an anticipated “ENQUIRY”.

Why is this important?

* ELEMENTARY PHASE EDUCATION IS BEING DECLARED THE NO.1 PRIORITY IN SOUTH AFRICA!
* ELEMENTARY PHASE EDUCATION IS THE   INCEPTION IN HUMANS LIFE!
* ELEMENTARY PHASE EDUCATION IS THE INITIATOR OF THE ECONOMY & GDP OF OUR COUNTRY!
* ELEMENTARY PHASE EDUCATION DETERMINES AN INCREASE TO SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AND PASS RATE; BE IT IN GRADE ONE(1) TO GRADE TWELVE (12)!

How it will be delivered

I signed this ‘mother of petitions’ as a follow-up precedence for Justice in our country e.g Life Esidimeni!

For how long should we watch while our elementary phase teachers are segregated and marginalised.

Some Grade R Teachers are on fixed term contract for more than ten(10) years without benefits, for e.g. Free State & Kwazulu Natal women Grade R Teachers are without maternity leave; it’s their responsibility to identify a substitute teacher and then, pay them with their stipend until they are back to work.

Some senior Grade R Teachers, still earn R2000 by the SGB; after worked for years and it has become a normalcy for the Department allegedly using SGB as a cabal.

Life Esidimeni was a classic but painful lesson of mass negligence in which led to multiple death of our own families and friends. We cannot afford to watch our teachers die silently without anyone booked to account.

I signed!

Even the President of South Africa shall sign this petition in agreement of overhauling the Education system in South Africa. A nations’ education system determines its prosperity and development. Regards. Dr BJ Langa - SAECDTU!

Hundreds of thousands of South Africans have raised their hands and voices on this important matter of national interest; the maladministration, diabolic, tenderpreneur, red-taped system of Education against the demised ECD practitioners, Grade R Teachers and SGB Educators. Your signature is paramount and highly needed for maximum participation and a much accelerated resolution in our lifetime #SAECDTU

We launched a plea for an “Enquiry” against the National Department of Basic Education back dated 26 Years. Let’s sign in great numbers and spread this campaign all over South Africa, the diaspora and to the global communities #ECD #GradeR #SGBEducators @SAECDTU!
