Extend submission date for the National Youth Policy 2020

The Minister did extend the deadline, which was a step in the right direction. However, there are broader issues with the entire process raised by youth activist Sheilan Clarke in this op-ed: https://www.news24.com/news24/opinion-young-people-continue-to-be-ignored-and-are-not-a-priority-for-government-20200314

*Update* The Minister extended the consultation deadline, but only by 6 weeks. https://static.pmg.org.za/201111_NYP_Consultation_Report.pdf

*Update* On 14 March Sheilan Clarke's Op-Ed on the issue was published on News 24 https://www.news24.com/news24/opinion-young-people-continue-to-be-ignored-and-are-not-a-priority-for-government-20200314

Minister, please extend the date for submissions for comments on the current draft of the National Youth Policy 2020 - 2030.

Having engaged with the draft, it is clear that:

- there was no review of the current policy (NYP 2015 - 2020)
- the draft document is a copy and paste of this current policy
- the consultations haven't yielded any substantial input into this new draft

We're calling on the Minister to extend the submission deadline and conduct more youth consultations

Why is this important?

It is important for young people to inform the national youth policy as the policy directly impacts them and their development trajectory

In addition, encouraging youth participation in the policy making process helps in nation building and active citizenship
