Recognition of Khoisan Languages

Recognise, acknowledge and include the Khoisan languages as official languages of South Africa.

Why is this important?

The various Khoisan languages are native to South Africa but aren’t even given the full recognition in their country. Some of the languages have died out and others are on the brink of dying out. There are very few fluent speakers left of the N|uu language, for example. Preserving these indigenous languages, which play a big role in South Africa’s culture, history and heritage, starts with given them the full recognition. These languages deserve to be part of the official languages. It would be an injustice to the Khoisan people to ignore this, and further more, an injustice to the people of South Africa. The Khoisan culture and history forms part of our own.
