From 1 March 2022, employers, including employers of domestic workers, were required to pay their employees a minimum of R23, 19 per hour, which translates to approximately R4019, 57 per month for domestic workers who work 40 hours a week and R4522, 02 for workers who work 45 hours a week. Students who set up the petition and have been affected by backlogs have reported that they have started receiving their diplomas nationally, this is what the petition starter said: " I received my diploma yesterday and many other students who have waited for years have been receiving their diplomas in the past few days. We thank you for standing with us during hard times and may you continue being the voice of South Africans"

A bill to clear the names of those who ended up with criminal records for breaching lockdown regulations was passed.

Following months of testimonies at the Life Esidimeni inquest, the Pretoria High Court handed down a judgement which stated that Former Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu and former head of the Mental Health Directorate, Makgabo Manamela, are among the people the court says should be held accountable for this tragedy. "Having heard all the evidence in this inquest, I have come to the conclusion that the deaths of the following deceased: Matlakala Motsoahae, Virginia Machpelah, Terence Chaba, Nathaniel Mashigo, Josias Daniels, Frans Dekker, Charity Ratsotso, Deborah Phetla and Koketso Moerane were negligently caused by the conduct of Ms Qedani Dorothy Mahlangu and Dr Makgabo Manamela." 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗖𝗗 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻. This exemption is for ECD centres operating without the necessary land use approval in place or approved building plans. Centres in vulnerable areas no longer have to pay an administrative penalty before getting these approvals. This exemption will impact at least 1562 centres, 58 043 young children and 7282 staff members.
